We’ll be real with you, we never imagined we’d ever write a blog post like this. But the world is a very different place these days, and now, more than ever, we want to ensure we’re doing everything to support the health and safety of our community.

Admittedly, we were unsure how it would feel to to sweat it out while wearing a face covering. Would we feel short of breath? Would the mask trap all the sweat on our face? Well, we’re happy to report that members of our team have been practicing with masks on over the past week…. and it’s no biggie with the “right” mask! Below is an ever-evolving list of our favorite workout-friendly masks.

      • Laura L. says, “Can you say game-change? Comfortable material with adjustable straps and a built in lanyard. It stays snug to my face but has a built in frame so I’m not inhaling mask.”
  • Onzie Mindful Masks$24 for a pack of 2
    • Made with multi-layer fabric made of Full Flex Spandex technology for the exterior with a high performance inner lining and elastic straps.
    • Made from up-cycled fabric
      • Heather D. says, “The Onzie masks are my favorite! They are comfortable on my face and ears, breathable, and super cute – the price point is great too. I also love that they are a female owned, small business.”
  • 3D Mask Bracket – 5-pack for $10.99
    • Material: made from a upgrade soft plastic that is very comfortable against our faces, non-toxic , safe and washable for reuse.
      • Michelle H. says, “Super inexpensive and makes a HUGE difference.  You can put these beneath any mask and it won’t suck into your nose or mouth as you inhale.  It works best in masks that have a slot to insert a filter, but you can also just have the insert against your skin.”

Can’t get your hands on one of the styles listed above? You’re not alone! Masks are definitely a hot commodity these days. We’ve had students give a stamp of approval to disposable masks, as they are a bit more breathable than their standard cotton/cloth cousins. (Please make sure you dispose of them properly to protect the environment!) Some folks also recommend bringing a second, back-up mask so you can make a swap mid-class or as you’re getting ready to head out the door.
