Kids Yoga: Jungle Animal Postures

  • Lion
    • Sit crisscross applesauce
    • Bring your lion paws up by your face
    • stick out your tongue and ROAR like a lion!
  • Tiger
    • Tabletop/Spinal Balance:
      • Come to your hands and your knees
      • Stack shoulders over wrists
      • Stack hips over knees
      • Stretch one arm forward and your opposite leg back
      • Spread your stripey fingers and kick up your leg like a tiger tail
  1. Lizard
    • Runners Lunge:
      • From low lunch inch your right foot outside of your hands toward the top right hand corner of your mat
      • Place back knee on the ground
      • Make big wiggly eyes and look all around
      • Repeat on the left
  • Monkey
    • Horse Pose/ Hands up
      • Bring your feet wide and point your toes toward the corners of the room
      • Squat down
      • Hands go high!
      • Jumpety Jump and make monkey noises! “ooo-oo! Ah-Ah!”
  • Bear
    • Happy Baby:
      • Lay on your back
      • Grab onto your feet with your furry paws, and growl!
  • Sloth
    • Childs Pose:
      • Bring knees wide
      • Big toes to touch
      • Reeeach forward
      • Close your eyes and breath deep sloth like breaths!
